It was announced on Tuesday that former New England Patriots QB Ryan Mallett had passed away due to an unfortunate drowning incident in Florida. Mallett was only 35 years old.

It’s a tragic accident that lead to the untimely death of a talented young man. Mallett, a former University of Arkansas standout, played seven seasons in the NFL.
Mallett began his pro career in New England after being drafted by the Patriots in the third round of the 2011 NFL Draft. Mallett would also go on to play for the Houston Texans and Baltimore Ravens.

Former teammate Tom Brady, whom Mallett backed up for multiple seasons with the Patriots, also posted on social media reacting to the death of his former teammate and friend.
