The Boston Celtics are involved in seemingly every trade rumor there is. Ainge has a huge trade exception he can use, and there have been rumors of other moves as well. Regardless of that, if the Celtics do make a trade that means some players will have to go. Here’s a breakdown of all of the Celtics players in terms of how tradable they are.
Untouchable
Both of these guys have played at an elite level this season. Tatum was just named to his second All-Star team, meanwhile Brown made his first. Tatum is coming off of an All-NBA season last year, and they both could be on track for one this season. They are also one of only two duos averaging at least 24 points a night this season. All of this at the young ages of 22 and 24 make them one of the best pairings in the entire league.
Although Tatum has dealt with some fatigue due to COVID-19, neither player has shown any signs of truly slowing down. They have each shown constant improvement over their years in Boston. On top of that, Tatum’s been to two Eastern Conference Finals already, and Brown has been to three. With such an impressive resume and ever-improving skill sets, the Celtics would be crazy to trade either of these guys.
