Jets Stun Browns in Last Minute Thriller

The Jets were down 30-17 with 1:55 left in the fourth quarter after Nick Chubb’s 12-yard touchdown—his third of the afternoon. Had Chubb slid instead of scoring, the game would’ve been over. But his ego must’ve gotten in the way because he went into the end zone, giving the Jets a chance to get the ball back.

Joe Flacco made quick work, pushing the ball down the field, and finding Corey Davis for a 66-yard touchdown reception. The two-play drive took 33 seconds and put the Jets within six. New York recovered the onside kick to give the offense one last chance at a comeback.

Flacco found Garrett Wilson for a 15-yard touchdown with 22 seconds left in the game, putting the Jets up a point.

Then, in Jacoby Brissett fashion, he threw a deep pass that was intercepted by Ashtyn Davis to seal the game for the Jets.

Flacco ended the day with 307 yards and four touchdowns and completed 26 of 44 pass attempts. Rookie Wilson saw the end zone twice and had eight catches for 102 yards. The former 10th overall pick in the 2022 draft, Wilson looks to have found his footing following the breakout game.

Rookie Breece Hall also had his first career touchdown on a 10-yard reception from Flacco.

The Browns were coming off a narrow victory over Baker Mayfield and the Panthers in week one, but the questionable call by Chubb likely cost them a W against a Jets team that’s playing without starting quarterback Zach Wilson.

The Jets will look to keep the momentum rolling against Joe Burrow and the Bengals next week, while the Browns seek to bounce back against the Steelers on Thursday Night Football.
