Cam Newton Looks Very Irresponsible as a Captain For the Patriots

The New England Patriots and the Kansas City Chiefs had their game postponed to Monday night at 7:05 PM ET because a player tested positive. That player was Cam Newton.

Bill Belichick doesn’t give the “Captain” label to players in their first year with the Patriots, but he did to Cam Newton. As a captain of the team and as the face of the franchise now, Newton had a responsibility to lead by example by taking the virus seriously.

Now, I don’t know where Newton was this last week and you could get the virus if someone coughs next to you, so it wouldn’t be fair for me to speculate, but we can still connect the dots.

The New England Patriots have 53 players on their roster and every one of them was tested for COVID. All of their results came back negative except for one person: Cam.

So what that tells me and what should tell you is Cam Newton wasn’t where he was supposed to be and therefore, he was irresponsible as the quarterback of an NFL franchise.

Now, Brian Hoyer is the one facing off against the best player in the league–instead of Newton– on Monday night in what seems like will be the Patriots second loss of the season.
