Jason Varitek has tested positive for COVID-19, according to his wife, Catherine. “Just when we thought we were doing everything right Covid found a way in,” Catherine wrote on Twitter. “Jason has tested positive w[ith] Covid-19. He’s doing well for the most part, and is self isolating.”
Varitek’s wife pleaded with her followers to “wear your masks, keep your distance & wash your hands.”
Varitek is obviously a Red Sox legend but has turned his focus to coaching Boston’s young catchers. He was elevated to the Red Sox coaching staff this offseason to serve under current manager Alex Cora.
