Tom Brady Announces He Won’t Re-Sign With The Patriots

After 20 years in New England, Tom Brady announced on Twitter that he won’t be re-signing with the Patriots. Brady has yet to agree to terms with another team.

The writing was on the wall after Brady asked for the Patriots to put a clause in his contract prohibiting the team from using the franchise tag on him this offseason. That was a clear sign that Brady wanted to hit free agency and was prepared to look elsewhere.

The speculated divide between Brady and head coach Bill Belichick has finally hit it’s breaking and left Brady looking for greener pastures while the Patriots are left up the creek without a paddle.

New England’s options at quarterback are limited to 2019 4th round pick Jarrett Stidham, middling free agents and trade options (i.e. Andy Dalton and Teddy Bridgewater) or a rookie in this year’s draft. The Patriots have been linked to Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert in recent weeks.
