Patriots Fill Out Practice Squad, Make No Waiver Claims

The Patriots hit the practice field on Sunday and revealed the players they’ve signed to join their practice squad. Most consisted of players who were released by the team before Saturday’s cutdown deadline.

The Patriots still don’t have a kicker on their active roster. Nick Folk is the favorite for the job pending IR moves becoming official. Gunner Olszewski, Damien Harris and Beau Allen are expected to be placed on injured reserve in the coming days. All three were absent for Sunday’s practice. This season, teams are able to limit player’s IR stints to just 3 weeks.

After averaging 38 league-wide waiver claims per season over the previous four years, there were only 17 among the 32 teams this year. The Patriots has 0 players claimed after having at least 3 players claimed every year since 2016. They also claimed no players.
