Marcus Smart Announces He’s Been Cleared of COVID-19 Virus; Only One Known Case Left in the NBA

Marcus Smart took to Twitter Sunday night to tell his fans he was cleared of the coronavirus by the Massachusetts Department of Health of Friday.

Smart is the fourth NBA player who tested positive for the coronavirus to be cleared by doctors, joining Rudy Gobert, Donovan Mitchell and Christian Wood. Kevin Durant is the only player currently in the NBA known to have the coronavirus who has not yet been publicly cleared. There are multiple unnamed cases across the league with no updates.

Smart didn’t experience any symptoms while he had the virus according to head coach Brad Stevens. Smart maintained throughout this process that he felt fine and even felt like he could’ve played through it. Smart was put in the spotlight as one of the players who tested positive and took the opportunity to publicly urge fans to take the virus seriously and stay home.
